Confidentiality
Every time I meet with a student for the first time, I make sure I explain my confidentiality policy or my "secret keeper" policy. I explain to kids that what is shared in my office, stays in my office. However, there are 3 important exceptions to my secret keeping.
Individual Counseling
I work with students individually for a number of different reasons. Listed are just a few of the topic areas I counsel on.

This form of counseling is beneficial because it is catered towards one student and allows the counselor to work with the student on specific issues or skills. Most importantly, individual counseling is a great opportunity for the counselor to build a relationship with the student.
